On Monday, March 14, Facebook will be in Franklin, Tenn., to teach local women small business owners how to optimize their presence and engage customers on the world’s largest social network.
Facebook’s women-focused Boost Your Business will be held in Franklin in honor of Women’s History Month, March. The event will be co-hosted by Leadership Middle Tennessee and the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) with Congressman Marsha Blackburn welcoming entrepreneurs.
“Facebook has transformed the way we as women do business,” said Congressman Marsha Blackburn. “From the young woman working her way through college to the mother who is building her business from home, it has provided every hardworking woman the opportunity to get her message out to the world. We are excited to bring these women together to highlight their importance in our community and provide them with tools to take their business to the next level.”
The Boost Your Business seminar will include a presentation by a Facebook small business expert on the latest Facebook best practices and strategies for success. A question and answer session will follow, featuring a panel of local small business people that will share their Facebook tips, tricks and suggestions. The panelists are representing the following small businesses: antique home store City Farmhouse, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and Mechanical solutions company Lee Company and antique and estate jewelry store Walton’s Antique Jewelry.
Before the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with representatives of local business development organizations and hear about community resources during the networking session.
How do Facebook and small businesses connect?
• There are more than 50 million small businesses using Facebook to connect with customers.
• Approximately 8 in 10 people in the US are connected to at least one small business on Facebook.
Members of the media who have any questions or would like to attend the event should RSVP to Samantha Spielman at sspielman@fb.com.
