Black Abbey Brewing Company had a collaboratively-brewed pale ale named Unite available in its taproom and donated 100% of the proceeds from its sale over 30 days to Stephanie’s Fight, a local charity funding lung cancer research named in honor of Stephanie Weins, co-founder of Blackstone Brewing Company. Pictured left to right are: Kent Taylor, Blackstone Brewing Company; John Owen, Black Abbey Brewing Company; and Carl Meier, Black Abbey Brewing Company. The beer was created by four of Nashville’s female brewers: Bailey Spaulding and Sally Cooper of Jackalope, Karen Lassiter of Corsair and Laura Burns of Tennessee Brew Works. Proceeds from the sale of Unite, still available at locations around Nashville, will benefit the national Pink Boots Society, which supports women in the beer business, and Stephanie’s Fight.
