In response to the projected growth and demand on the state’s current transportation system, the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) updated its 25-Year Long-Range Multimodal Transportation Plan (LRTP). The Plan looks at changes in population, demographics, the economy, technology, land use, departmental policies, and other variables to develop a data-driven roadmap to guide efforts over the next 25 years.
Varallo Public Relations served in a public outreach role in this project. Efforts included promoting and assisting with TDOT’s community outreach “Book-a-Planner” program. Stakeholders were encouraged to participate in online surveys and provide feedback via social media. Varallo Public Relations advised team members on e-mail distribution to stakeholder groups, social media posts, and presentation materials. The firm also assisted with locally-hosted, statewide meetings to update stakeholders – and seek additional feedback – throughout the planning process.
